Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Mendly ("we", "our", or "us") connects people who need work done at home with the professionals who do it. That means we handle sensitive information, including your home address and photos of the inside of your home. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.
Information We Collect
When you request a service we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, the service address where the work will happen, a description of what you need done, your budget and availability, and any photos or video you choose to upload of the area needing work. If you create an account we store your login credentials in hashed form. Mendly does not process payments between you and your professional, so we never see or store your card details. We also collect basic usage data such as pages visited, approximate location derived from your postal code, and device and browser information.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to match you with a professional who fits your budget, timing and location, to schedule and confirm the work, to send you booking confirmations, reminders and service updates by email and text message, to handle support requests and disputes, to detect fraud and abuse, and to improve the platform. We do not use your photos or video for advertising or for training third-party models.
Who We Share It With
We share your name, contact details, service address, job description and any uploaded media with the professional matched to your request, because they need it to do the work. We also use service providers who process data on our behalf: hosting and database infrastructure, email delivery, text-message delivery, payment processing, and error monitoring. They may only use your data to provide those services to us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect someone's safety. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If You Are a Service Professional
We additionally collect your business details, service area, pricing, availability, and license and insurance information. If you subscribe to a paid Mendly plan, your payment details are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on Mendly's servers. Your business name, service area, ratings and credential status are shown publicly on your Mendly profile. Your license number and any documents you upload are not public.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your account and request history for as long as your account is active. Job records, invoices and related transaction data are kept for up to seven years where tax and accounting rules require it. Photos and video attached to a request are kept for two years unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Anything not subject to a legal retention requirement is deleted when you ask us to delete it.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Mendly does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you can exercise the other rights at any time. Use the Your Privacy Choices page, or email us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How We Protect It
Passwords are stored using salted hashing and are never recoverable in plain text. Data is encrypted in transit. Access to customer and professional records is restricted to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so if a breach affects your information we will notify you as required by law.
Children
Mendly is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your information we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify you directly.
Contact Us
For privacy questions or to exercise any of the rights above, contact us at privacy@mendly.services, or use the Your Privacy Choices page to request deletion directly.
Delete my personal information
You can submit a deletion request yourself at any time. We verify it by email, then tell you exactly what was deleted and what had to be kept.
